Dr. Forbes is a highly qualified and compassionate Medical Doctor specializing in Psychiatry. Her work in ALL areas of Psychiatry including: Adult, Child and Adolescent, Emergency, Substance Use, Forensic, and Community Psychiatry fuels her dedication in helping patients and the Bahamas improve their mental health and well-being.
With an excellent academic background, Dr. Forbes completed a degree of Doctor of Medicine in Psychiatry with the top overall marks at the prestigious University of the West Indies where she gained experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of psychiatric disorders, developed expertise in medication management and psychotherapy. She received an undergraduate degree with honors from St. John’s/St. Benedict University in Psychology and Pre-medicine, where she developed a strong foundation in the theories and principles in human behavior. Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, disciplined, detail-oriented, team player, and patient advocate.
A philanthropist, Rotarian, and community service advocate Dr. Forbes volunteers time and resources to a variety of charitable organizations, civic groups and churches. She is committed to mentoring young people in the community and currently volunteers in local high schools.
Dr. Forbes was born in Nassau, but is EXTREMELY proud of her Acklins and Andros roots. In her spare time she enjoys TRAVELING, reading, jogging, public speaking and mentoring young people.
She attends Bahamas Harvest Church and is a firm believer in Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God.”
